Cookies and browser storage

What this page covers

This page explains the cookies and browser storage GoHome.ph uses, in line with National Privacy Commission guidance on cookie transparency.

Essential cookies

sid is an HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax session cookie that keeps you signed in. It expires after seven days or when you log out. This cookie is necessary to keep you signed in and does not require separate consent.

Language preference

The language specified in the URL determines the website language. If the URL does not specify a language, we use your browser's language preferences, with English as the fallback. Switching languages changes the URL; we do not save your language choice in cookies, browser storage, or your account.

Cookie notice preference

The sid-notie entry in your browser's local storage remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice. You can clear it through your browser's site-storage controls, which will cause the notice to reappear.

Analytics cookies (optional)

With your consent, GoHome.ph uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics only loads after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie notice; it does not run if you decline or dismiss without accepting. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the sid-analytics-consent entry in your browser's local storage, which will cause the cookie notice to reappear. GoHome.ph does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking the sid session cookie will prevent you from staying signed in. Clearing local storage will cause the cookie notice to reappear.
